Was It Polemically Sent?

I remember the first time I heard this song  (along with Crazy Train) in 1980 and thought that Randy Rhoads was some kind of special guitarist.

Special would be an understatement.

Looks like an album cover.

Mr. Crowley , live, 1981. . .  with that classic, Mini-Moog, keyboard intro and that signature, Rhoads shredding.

Note: Aleister Crowley would sometimes sign books and autographs, “Polemically Yours, Aleister Crowley,” which inspired Bob Daisley to wrote the line “was it polemically sent?,” which appears near the end of the song. “Polemically” means generating controversy.  I recall hearing that line (having no idea what it meant) and thinking that it sounded cool.  It doesn’t take much when you are twenty years old.

This was definitely one of our “Friday night” songs, back in the day.

I know there are readers who were alive in the 80’s, the years of big hair and tight leather.   What songs/artists do you remember?

  1. Brilliant guitarist. Sad that he died so young.
