A Day Late . . .

But what’s a day over forty five years? (Many links in this post and best appreciated by going directly to the blog)

Yesterday was the 45th anniversary of the release of Alice Cooper’s School’s Out.

Who among us have not sung that chorus at least once?

Back in the day, parents feared for their children’s souls when an Alice Cooper record was found in the house, (at least it was in my house).  It was so, so cutting edge for the time, but was tame by today’s standards.

Today, Cooper is a committed Christian and  all around nice guy, (not to be confused with No More Mr. Nice Guy).

With all due respect to the original band, the current touring lineup is the best band that Alice has ever put together. Rock bands have changed from 1972 as I have read that the current band is alcohol free, drug free and several members play golf together every morning  they are on tour.

The song/album was already fourteen years old when current lead guitarist, Hurricane Nita Strauss was born.

A seven minute version of a three and a half  minute song. Includes introduction of the band and a little Pink Floyd tribute.
