A Life Of Faith And Perserverence

On this day in 1821, Elizabeth Ann Seton died.  image-2

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was born on Aug 28, 1774 in New York City.  She was introduced to Catholicism in Italy after her husband died. Following her conversion, she founded a Catholic school for girls that established the Catholic parochial school system in the United States. She is the patron saint of Catholic Schools.  On September 14, 1975 she was declared the first, American born Saint in the Roman Catholic Church.

She spent many years on “Mary’s Mountain” in Emmitsburg, Maryland and I developed my devotion to her as I have spent countless hours studying her life and great works and praying on that mountain.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.
