Old News?

imagesA brief column about something that I have been asked several times over the last few days, “What do you think of the Catholic Church’s new rules about cremation?”

Huh?

It seems that The Vatican has released new guidelines regarding cremation and burial.  To this simple, village undertaker however, I fail to see where there are any changes from what we have been practicing for almost twenty years now.

Here is some history, indicating the “new rules” have been in effect since 1997.

What am I missing?  images-1

Maybe the Church is looking at this as a reminder to all , because so many Catholics have been disregardng  the guidelines and because many priests are not teaching respect for  the faith?

What say you?
