So, You Want To Publish A Book?

Modern technology makes it easier to connect with folks all around the world.  We can literally have virtual, ongoing conversations with people we appreciate and respect.  Social media allows us to reach out and for others to reach back.

Several years ago, I stumbled accross a blog  by a fledgling author named Andra Watkins. She was a gritty, sassy story-teller and seemed to have a bottomless pit of energy and determination.

Her first book, To Live Forever. An Afterlife Journey of Meriwether Lewis was supported by her actually walking and recording her 444 mile hike on the Natchez Trace. She also posted, short  daily videos of her journey, great stories in themselves, blood blisters and all.

That hike, led to her second book,  Not Without My Father, which made it to #9 on the New York Times Bestseller list and made her father, Roy Watkins a sensation of his own.

I have met Andra, heard her speak and have tried to promote her and her books whenever possible because she has a unique gift for telling her stories.hard-to-die

Now, the next story is only a week from being released when Hard To Die hits the shelves on November 1st.

Here is Andra sharing Five Reasons Why Launching a Book Sucks:  It makes me want to shelve my effort.

What are you reading?
