Yesterday, I walked out the door of the company I started in 1999 for the last time. It was no longer mine after selling it in 2011, but I ran it as if I still owned it.
I was saddened, yet relieved.
Last night, with my wife and daughters staying at a friend’s home, I slept alone, amid the boxes and empty rolls of packing tape, in the home we have lived in since December 7, 2002.
I laid there with the memories of those years flooding back and to say it was a restful night would be an exageration.
This morning, I am up early, waiting for the movers to load what they packed yesterday and the “walk-through” with the soon to be new owners.
Two endings that match this overcast morning.
Tomorrow, we start the next chapter as we move to Southwest Michigan.
It is an exciting, new beginning and we are filled with anticipation. I look forward to sharing that journey.
May you have many happy, healthy years in your new home and look back with happy memories of the previous chapter of your life.

We were surprised when we visited Benton Harbor. It was much different than what we expected. We are both very excited about the move.

Are you moving to BH? We are in St. Joseph! We moved here 3 years ago.

I will be the GM of Starks FH. Tom and I were friends in Graduate School (1982-83). We will start by living above his FH in Dowagiac, but St. Joe will be my primary office.

Thank you, Steve. I’ll be in Somerset County for a few days, but unfortunately, I will not have time to come by and pick up that laptop. Best wishes.

You did good work in Aiken. George FH had heart. George FH celebrated veterans, police & firemen because they were in your heart. The Aiken community, steeped in southern aristocracy, choose George FH, owned by a New Jersey transplant family over others, owned by native sons, that were no where near as passionate. I will enjoy watching what is about to happen in Michigan.

Thank you. I had many good teachers and I love telling the story of how we met and almost conquered the world. Best wishes.

Dear Ray. So happy for you and this opportunity but also sad. You have been a part of my family in a way for years. Thank you so much for all you did for Frances. I appreciate it immensely. It’s good that you have respect for the elderly. Take care. Lots of prayers for fulfillment. Let me know if your daughter needs any help with school. Sincerely, Pam Cook
