We have been here five days and the fire alarm has gone off three times.
Apparently, there is a problem with the heat/smoke detector in the elevator, mechanical room.
Luckily, it has gone off during the middle of the day as opposed to 2am.
The staff here is clueless and the Fire Dept only responded to the first event on Saturday and that was a “non-emergency” response from the fire station which is about a half mile away.
During this morning’s event, one of the staff first mentioned it was another false alarm, but then stated a smoke detector activated on the fourth floor. No fire engine today. No directions from staff. No “all clear, you can go back”
Guests are blowing it off and not leaving their rooms. Me, being the good, retired firefighter I am, made the trip down four flights of stairs each time. Unfortunately, the resort apparently does not have a plan for dealing with these alarms. Sounds like a recipe for a disaster at some future date.
I might need to stop in the office in the morning and aggrevate someone. Yea, sounds like fun.
Minor distractions during an otherwise relaxing week.
