Writing The Pages

The introduction to the next chapter of our lives is underway.  After being recruited for and  turning down two  job offers over the last year, the third was the charm, and in a few weeks, after living in South Carolina for twenty years, we will move to Southwest Michigan.

My current employment agreement required me to give sixty days notice, which I  did on May 2nd.  Do the math and my last day is June 30th.

I'll be working not far from this iconic landmark.

I’ll be working not far from this iconic landmark.

I will wait until I get out there before I start describing my new gig, but it is the perfect match for my skills, experience and passion for funeral service.  There is nothing bad to say about  the folks I work for now, but enough of the pieces of the puzzle fit and I would have been a fool not to accept it.

The teasing has started about the winters there.  Well, there might be a bit more snow than what we were used to in Aiken, but it will also be nice not to have a heat index of 101, which is what we are experiencing  today.

We are moving to a beautiful area of the Country and lucky for me, Alicia is just as excited as I am about moving there.   More to share when the time is right.

PArt of the year, it looks like this. Good thing I still have my winter clothes.

  2. Hope the move happens smoothly. and more snow isn’t bad, at least you might have an excuse to buy a snowblower or a new set of all weather tires…
