I read the following this morning, sent from Fr. Thomas Moore’s, Orthodox Quote of the Day. It was a fitting start to my day, week and life.
Struggle to the very end.
The whole point of the struggle is not to be delivered from the struggle, as it will go on forever.
The reason to struggle is that the more you do, the better chances you have of being successful in your struggle.
Elder Sergei of Vanves: Life & Teachings p.104
Today we begin a brief repreive from our daily struggles as we head to the Lowcountry of South Carolina. As luck would have it, we are likely to have front row seats for the next tropical system brewing in the Gulf.
I use the term “brief repreive” as neither my wife nor I will spend the entire week as we continue the struggle of having to pack up a house we have lived in for thirteen and a half years and move about a third of the way accross the Country at the end of this month. Alicia is busy interviewing movers, giving away/selling stuff we don’t need or can’t fit in our new place and contuing to stay of good cheer.
Moving can be a struggle, but a happy one, filled with anticipation and opportunity.
As Roseanne Roseannadanna would say, “It’s always something”
Good thing.
Otherwise there would be nothing worth having or striving for.
Next report will be from Avocet Rd.
Powerful.

I like Fr. Moore’s quote. Words of wisdom. Knowing you and Alicia, you can handle anything that comes your way. Keeping you in our prayers for the journey and adventure that lies ahead. 🙂
