Today, I was fortunate to attend a continuing education workshop sponsored by the South Carolina Funeral Director’s Association at our Mid-Winter “convention”
I listened to a speaker that I never heard of before. Apparently, he s quite respected and well-known, but I live a sheletered existence.
His name is Dan Clark
He spoke for almost three hours…quite a task and his style did remind me of his mentor, the late, great Zig Ziglar.
I absorbed a few phrases that have already found their way into my lexicon:
“A sale is nothing more than a transfer of trust” (my favorite)
“When your horse dies, it’s time to dismount”
“I like me best when I spend time with you”
“Minimum requirement mediocrity”
“You become the average of the five people you associate with the most” (Loose translation of Nightengale’s, “You become what you think about”)
Dan is good at his trade.
Sure beat the casket displays…….
