Weekend Update, Part 1.

To use a phrase heard in a commercial, I have been “running at the speed of business” lately. There has been much excitement in my world and I regret that I have not been able to make the time to write, nor read much.

Part of my daily routine has always been to read 20 or so blogs and it pains me to admit that I have not been staying connected with with all my BBF’s (Blogging buddy friends)

I have three books, resting on my night stand. Each hoping that tonight is the night I bring them into my bed and hold them. We each slumber unfulfilled.

The end of this week however, brings excitement.

All three daughters will be home for the weekend…with their boyfriends. It is homecoming weekend at Casa d’ Visotski. It all started with “let’s go watch dad’s band play”.

We will be celebrating Daniel’s birthday this evening.

Tomorrow morning, I’m up bright and early, driving almost two hours to speak at a Veterans Benefits workshop near Orangeburg, SC. I committed to this several months ago, before the band date came up. I present at 4-5 of these events each year, scattered around the state. It will be fun and I always enjoy my time with our Veterans.

Tomorrow afternoon, after rushing back from the workshop, it is set-up time and sound check for Barkaritaville. (Don’t believe what the article says about Lo Down Brown…I promise you, they will not be there…we will be “The tunes”)

Maybe a one-hour nap in the car? Not likely.

Tomorrow evening, 6-10pm… Live Like Larry hits the stage. (We don’t have a website…yet)

Late tomorrow evening….take it all down and load it into the vans and head home for the “after party” with the kids.

Sunday will consist of church, rest and sending them back on their way to Realsville..

Life is fast these days, but life is good.

  1. I hope you made it through all your exciting weekend events without any big road bumps. It sounded like very full, and very fun! The books are stacking up on my bedside, too. If only I could read well into the night like I once did. Now…the eyes close and it’s all over much too early!

  2. The weekend turned out great and also got to finally meet Andra Watkins earlier in the week, but it was like I already knew her…..and I’d bet that you could appreciate that, right?
