Occasionally, my life gets a little complicated.
Like, deciding which football team to cheer for on any given day.
Since Moving to South Carolina fifteen years ago, I have been a USC Gamecock fan. We even had season tickets the year they were 0-11. Tickets are a little harder to get these days.
Alas, I digress.
#3 Daughter now attends Auburn University, so I also have to cheer for them, except when they will be playing the Gamecocks…and we already have tickets for that game.
#3 Daughter is also now romantically involved with a young man who is an offensive lineman, (Center) for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Since said young man is actually bigger than me, I felt it was important that we have an understanding from the beginning, so as to prevent any errors in judgement on his behalf. Since we have not met yet, I wanted to make sure he understood what to expect when we do.
I asked Megan if she had shared the Rules For Dating My Daughter with young Mr. Anderson and I did not receive a reply.
Now “The Rules”, originally published in December, 2012 is one of the most commonly searched for/read posts on the blog. I ave also heard from several parents who have printed off the rules and stuck them to their refrigerators for all to see.
Sorry, another digression.
After a few days, I sent her a text, requesting a photo of a “thumbs up” photo, indicating that he read and understood the rules.
I received the photo below.
No visable tattoos or dreads….common for atheletes these days….Check.
Seatbelt on…..Check (PS…I was advised they were stopped in line at a fast food place (I hope he paid) and that the car was not moving when she took the photo)
Ah, to be young again.
All joking aside, “Niko” appears to be a great young man and as long as Megan is happy, Daddy is happy…but watching closely.
