This was pulled from a blog post entitled, Life depends on Change, and Renewal

This is a topic that I find myself thinking about more and more…how we can change and evolve, regardless of where we are in our lives.

A little over ten years ago, I made some poor decisions. I would like to think that although I still live with some of the consequences, I learned and evolved….changed and renewed.

A buddy of mine, who was aware of that “journey to destruction” sent me a very long letter. Here is one paragraph. This quote hangs on the wall in my office and in my home.

“If there is one thing I am learning as I age, it is that all of our experiences, good and bad, contribute in ways we never could have imagined to the value we ultimately bring to the world. So I have become more accepting of things that happen because I believe they will improve me in the long run”.

May we all use this Easter weekend to consider that which needs to be changed in our lives and let us have the courage to take the first steps towards renewal.4875686

Thanks for the link. Everything we do, everything we say, everything we are goes towards what we were born to do, our fate, our destiny. The old saying “that which does not kill us had better run pretty damn fast” … no, wait. The other one “That which does not kill us only makes us stronger” is true as we learn from what we have done. After my separation from my ex-wife, I went on a self-destructive stint doing things I am not proud of. I wanted everything to end and I didn’t care who I took with me. That has since turned me into the person I am today. The person who tries to stop other people from going down that same route. The same as yours changed you. It created who you are today, teaching you lessons you did not want to learn, but you needed them.

I hope you have a good Easter, and thank you.
