Caleb shares a bit of fiction, that unfortunately, is all too true and has played out countless times. Thanks to lawyers and government, we have no choice but to be careful businessmen. When I started in “the business” in 1978, everything we needed to know about a funeral could be found on one page of a ledger book….written in cursive with a fountain pen.
Today, the average funeral folder is 1/2-3/4″ thick with forms and authorizations….all backed up on computers.
The Tragic Story of the Generous Funeral Director.
I can relate to the story and told my $20,000.00 version of it here, Amnesia Please
If I had to do over….I’d do it the same.
Unfortunately that story is all so very familiar. There seems to be a trend in the business turning toward business over people and families. I know how that feels. When you get burned when you were sure a family had good intentions it is very hard to not become jaded.
