Home Alone. Dinner For One

Today is the first day in quite a while that I got home before dark. I was supposed to attend a meeting, but it was canceled on very short notice. Aside from the dogs, no one was going to be home, so I stopped and picked up a few groceries (and forgot a few) and whipped up my favorite, quick dinner.

(Lulu, it’s not up to your standards, but it doesn’t have to be pretty to taste good)

I might be able to cook, but I’m a lazy guy at heart, so I put it on a plate, find a fork and eat my dinner watching the news.

From unpacking the grocery bags to eating was less than 30 minutes and I only used the skilet and a pot to boil the water…not bad.

The news sucked. Dinner was great.

The raw materials....Prosciutto, Marinara, Basil, garlic, fresh (well, almost) pasta, cheese, wine, bread

While bumping into people I knew at the grocery store, I forgot the melon. I also thought I had some fresh garlic at home, but it seems to have disappeared. Luckily, I had some minced garlic in wine vinegar and that filled in nicely.

Olive oil, garlic, meat...a good foundation

Now it is staring to smell very happy.....

Hell, it doesn't have to look pretty on the table because it tastes so good.

Since I forgot the melon, this had to do for desert...not a bad plan B.
