On Being A Dad

It has been suggested by a certain daughter of mine that I create a blog about an experience she had yesterday with one of her best friends. When she made the request, she did not yet know that she had already garnered the morning headline, here.

I figured a way to tie a few elements together so that it would work and her little sister would not complain about equal time, (older sister could care less) and I as a daddy could have a little fun.

First, little sister, Megan, soon to turn 18 is interested in a boy who apparently is interested in her. At least, so says his mother, here and commented by me at the end of her post. Somebody (not implicating him, but ya never know) hit my blog early this morning and read most the posts that mentioned Megan…105! (Whoever it was, thank you for driving my stats on a Sunday, which is usually a slow day).

I took Megan and the young man out for pizza on Friday evening and was impressed that he knew the rules already. We can look at that two ways…sucking up to the old man or common sense…either way, it’s a good thing. No visible tattoos or body piercings and he wore a belt, holding his pants on where they needed to be, (no nail gun needed).

Time will tell.

Spotted on a car outside the pizza place on Friday..must be a Sopranos fan?

Elissa and her friend Kelsey ran in the Columbia, Color Run yesterday. The two girls have been friends for almost forever…Kelsey goes to Clemson and Elissa to USC…despite that, they get along. To top it off, their moms are best friends.. “Siamese twins, joined at the cell phone” as I would call them.

I asked her what their time was and she told me that they do not keep the time at the color run…so much for it being a “race”.

Here is the story about the Color Run, followed by some pictures taken yesterday, followed by a link to an article written by someone involved with bringing the race to the Augusta area this year…

I wonder who cleans up after this?

And if this looks like fun to you, there are races all over the Country. I understand that one is coming to the Augusta area, according to the woman who is always Wright.
