You Can Thank Washington

Many of you recall that my father had some surgery last week. We spent thirteen and a half hours at the hospital for his “same day surgery”.

As a guy who finds it difficult to sit/stand still for more than thirty seconds at a time, I was dilerious with boredom.

Once dad was moved to the recovery area, we were allowed to visit him. But he was not in much of a talking mood.

Not the clearest pictures, but you get the idea.

While standing around, (only one chair, which was for my mother), I spied a box of exam gloves. One of my buddies works for Kimberly-Clark, here in Aiken County and I thought it would be amusing to send him a text message with a picture of the box and a caption that read, “K-C, the official supplier of gloves to Somerset Medical Center

It was well received.

As the boredom increased, I picked up the box and turned it over and was shocked to see that the entire back of the box was filled with directions for how to use the purple gloves.

This has to be a federal government requirement…no one else could ever waste so many words and still say nothing.

You can thank Washington.
