Another Tragedy

As every “news” channel is consumed today with describing the carnage in Connecticut, we all share, albeit a small portion, of the pain of the families of Sandy Hook School. One of my favorite new blogs, has a post entitled, In Loving Tribute, which also contains links to a plethora of sites that have addressed the events that transpired yesterday.

I received a profound e-mail from a close friend this morning.

It is about something that I do not think about all that much, but today, it got my attention…the juxtaposition of yesterday.

I debated whether I should blog what he sent. As a father, nothing scares me more than thinking about one of my daughters being in danger, but there are all sorts of dangers out there.

What I put below, is not intended to minimize nor divert attention to what happened at that school yesterday. While there probably will not be another school shooting today, the evil described below continues on daily.

There is more evil in the world than I care to think about…and it is manifested in many ways.

I know this is going to strike a nerve with some people, but read on and then, in your mind, compare it to what happened in Sandy Hook…think about it.

It read….

“Yesterday, our country also witnessed a horrific tragedy in the brutal murder of three thousand three hundred children in abortion clinics throughout the United States, legally.

Confused and misguided young women brought themselves voluntarily in order to kill their most vulnerable babies, creating a culture of death within the entire nation. There are not adequate words to offer consolation to those seduced by this tragedy. images-1

Young lives, full of potential, were unnecessarily taken from their families. Parents who only later realize what they have done will be overwhelmed with anger and grief. We offer, first and foremost, our sincere condolences to all those who have been lied to. We also must remember in our prayers the families of all the victims, seeking God’s comfort and mercy upon them.

It is important to also take comfort knowing that, even though these lives were taken in such a violent way, they are in the peaceful and loving embrace of our Lord. The Christmas spirit should not be diminished by this senseless crime. Rather, it should serve as a reminder to us that each innocent human life is a gift from God, and worthy of protection.

Please offer your personal prayers for all the people of our nation and all who are suffering. Take a few extra moments with your own family and friends to speak the truth in love that abortion is our modern holocaust, and has aided in the destruction of the moral fabric of our Country.

May God grant eternal rest to their souls, and bring peace and comfort to the hearts of the community.”
