Whatever The Price…I’ll Pay

One of the first “Power Ballads” of it’s time.

A great, American song, by Styx.

I have never watched a video of this song before and was surprised to see that the guys play it in different positions than I do, but it does sound the same…not much room to fake this one…notes are notes. I started playing SMB in college and think is is so engrained in my mind that I could never learn it a different position.

The night before the Chocolate Moose Band played last, we started goofing around with this song and ended up using it to open the set on Saturday. It would have sounded better if we had a keyboard player.

Nice guitars…but Dennis, although you still had a great voice when this was recorded, what kind of outfit is that for the singer in a famous, rock band….and the fake hair? Looks like you should be headlining at the Howard Johnson’s Lounge…..I guess you grew up before the other guys.

I love Styx…..every single thing they sing! We were sorry to have missed the Chocolate Festival this year. We were at our granddaughter’s soccer game in Simpsonville.
