Slow Dancing

For several years now, I have spoken of my desire to experience empty nest syndrome. I love my daughters, but well, they are three, teenage girls, (OK, they are 23, 21, & 16) but sometimes we (I) just need a break.

For the last 30 hours or so, we have been without children…one working, one in NJ visiting relatives for the week and the other on a special outing in some western state.

Last night….dinner out. What fun…

I was thinking earlier today of a song that came out shortly after we were married. A fairly obscure song from the vast Joe Walsh catalogue.

Tonight… dinner in the dining room for two. A little warm out for a fire, but I thought about it. We cleaned up the kitchen and now…some slow dancing….just you and me.
