Another entry on the ongoing “Top 25 Lyrics”
Like so many other songwriter/performers I enjoy today, my initial introduction was when I was at college, with thanks to Jack Sonntag & Bernie McGuire.
My wife and I even picked out a Forbert song for our first dance on our wedding day. Being that our 25th anniversary is coming up in a few weeks, I’ll save that for then.
Here is Steve Forbert’s “January 23-30, 1978” from the Jackrabbit Slim” Album. With almost forty years of unique lyrics, his “It’s Often Said That Life Is Strange, But Compared to What?” is one of his most referenced lines….
Below “January 23-30”, is a more recent song entitled “Thirty More Years”, which makes reference to the same line.
