See, There Is A Reason To Do This…Really

The title says it all. It’s great to know that people actually read this blog and even better to find out that something they read on this blog caused them to take a ride in the country……

You may recall my Jim Croce post from last week…click here and be sure to read the comment by my buddy, Brad.

When he realized that he didn’t live all that far away from Croce’s grave, he decided to make a visit….

Hello Ray,
Well curiosity got the best of us after you sent me the information about Jim Croce being buried near Philly. So we got into the car on today and rode out to the Haym Salomon Memorial Park. Its about 20 miles west of Philadelphia. Once we found section B/B it was rather easy to find Jim’s memorial marker, since it is a different size and shape than most markers that are used in Pennsylvania area cemeteries. Even so it is a simple marker.

Thank, Brad....

The photo on the web site showing Jim and the grave marker obviously had been taken many years ago. As we stood their I noticed how things had changed in the cemetery, and even how his marker was showing age. My mind went directly to “Time in the Bottle”. We sat there quietly both of us remembering many years ago listening to his songs. It was a good afternoon ride for both of us. On the way home we just looked at each other smiling, not having to say a thing. It was a good day.

Well, since we are remembering Jim, we might as well listen to the song…..
