Jim Croce was another one of those musicians who was cut down in his prime. Not by drugs, but by an airplane.
This is a very early Croce song….Gunga Din. The other night Doug, Master of Eclecticity and I were driving home and I played some of my favorite songs in the truck. There were a few that I would rate in my top ten favorite songs. I didn’t have GD that night, but it’s on the list.
Croce was a musical genius. May his memory be eternal.
Hello Ray,,,,,
I have saved you Village Undertaker section on Jim Croce. I’m guessing were pretty close in age 52?. 51
Anyway we sat at the desk that night playing all of the Croce videos. Kim of course cried watching them,,, not unusual to see her crying while watching TV commercials,,,,,,,
I can remember almost like yesterday sneaking out into the hall way late at night watching the special on cbs, nbc, one of them,,, on Jim Croce’s death. I was in 8th or 9th grade and cried my eyes out. I also remember them showing photos of his young son on the show.
