Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung in beautiful, Aiken, SC.

First the Bradford Pears, soon to be followed by the dreaded, “Green Snow” (Pine pollen that covers everything….and then some)

Looking from the funeral home at the Federal Courthouse next door. You can barely spot the mistletoe in the pear trees...a sure sign of warmer temperatures.

My wife and I were at a fundraiser last night at the Aiken County Museum. Here is a photo, take by iPhone, through glass, of a real estate ad for the funeral home in 1937. The building used to be known as “Deodora” and was built in 1869. It looks a lot different today, but I recognized it right away.
