Extremes

Drum roll please……for post #1,000.

As a teenager in 1975, Alex Skolnick first heard Detroit Rock City by Kiss and decided that he was going to play guitar.

He was serious about that decision.

Alex Skolnick

I saw him for the first time a few years ago when he was touring with the Eastern version of the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Jelly and I had second row seats and I was able to watch him play, up close.

I was awestruck.

Here is the not quite original version of Detroit Rock City by Kiss, with the Australia Symphony. I have used this as the quality is great and the orchestra will make it interesting and bearable for some.

Followed by the Alex Skolnick version. This is the studio version, with no pictures. For as loud and aggressive as the Kiss version is, Alex’s version is as soft and soothing…listen to it…..and thanks for reading the Simple, Village Undertaker.
