Flags, Flags and More Flags

I love it when a plan falls into place…

Yesterday, we had a few surprise visitors at the funeral home.

Standing from left: Sharon Smoot, Irene Hawley, Lynn Brusky and Louanne Langmo; sitting, from left, are Barbara Taylor and Laurie Sprecher. Not pictured: Sue Podewils and Joan Basile. Photo taken by me at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center

Sorority sisters, bearing boxes of used and tattered United States Flags for us to retire with honor, cremating them with veterans.

After the ladies left, I created a brief press release and sent it over to the Aiken Standard, figuring it would take a week or so to get in.

Ace reporter, Ben Baugh called Sharon Smoot and built a story that ran at the top of page three today.
